Today definitely wasn't what I would call a "normal" day for me. Well a "normal" week as a matter of fact. Sunday I was invited to a wedding party for a friend's brother. So, I started my day off as usual: a pot of coffee! Ha! Were was I; Sunday. I decided that I would clean and finish tidying up home be fore I would finish anything else. So, I finished all the chores and had my lunch: no biggie.
I decided that I would finish off some work for my classes before I would get ready and head out. I finished three segments for one class and decided that I should get ready for the wedding. I went about my usual make -up routine for weddings. I get dressed and wore my hijab.
As I was driving to the wedding hall, the weather decided to let us play in the rain. It started pouring rain. As I am driving there was a truck behind me that apparent;y had no patience, so I decided to let him pass me ( mind you the speed limit was 45 mph: I was driving at 50). This truck went speeding past me at about 65 mph. I just shook my head at his ignorance, about five minutes later, there is the truck facing opposite direction of traffic. The truck slid and did a 180, landing him in standing water: about two feet high in a ditch. I just drove by and hoped he was okay.
As I parked my car at the hotel, and got out, I dropped my keys.....not cool. I was wearing an expensive Kaftan ( A gift from Dubai), that meant that I had to kneel down and pick them up... meaning that my Kaftan would be drenched by the time I got into the building. Out of nowhere came this gentleman and picked up my keys and handed them to me. I thanked him profusely and he smiled at me and said, " Your outfit is just to beautiful to ruin with this rain," and walked away. I just smiled at him, how kind of him to do that.
